Rain is once again in the updated NASCAR weather report for Chicago, but it's not like the chances of precipitation have snuck up on anybody, either.
For the third straight year, rain is expected in the latest NASCAR weather forecast for Chicago, which can obviously have a big impact on cars and the drivers on the track.
Some drivers have more experience racing in the wet conditions than others, offering a clear advantage for those understanding how to make pace in the rain.
The latest NASCAR weather report isn't calling for rain all day Sunday in Chicago.
However, there are scenarios where we could see drivers forced to manage wet conditions for the Grant Park 165 (2 p.m. ET, TNT).
Let's take a look.
Updated NASCAR Weather Report for Chicago
According to the National Weather Service, there's a 60% chance of rain and thunderstorms Sunday afternoon in Chicago.
The hourly isn't pretty either, as there's a 55% chance at 2 p.m. ET, the scheduled start time for Sunday's Grant Park 165, that then bounces between 57-60% over the following four hours.
For what it's worth, cars can run in the rain unless visibility becomes a problem, so don't be surprised if Sunday's race goes green at the scheduled 2 p.m. ET green flag, even if it is wet in Chicago.
Looking at current NASCAR odds for Chicago, pole-sitter and Mexico City winner Shane van Gisbergen is the Grant Park 165 favorite at +125, followed by Tyler Reddick (+650), Michael McDowell (+700), Ty Gibbs (+800) and Christopher Bell (+1100).
