Prop bets can be a great way to get action on a game. Bookmakers don’t have to worry about taking a lot of action on them, so there isn’t as great an incentive to post a competitive line.
As a result, props can be some of the most exploitable bets on the board.
These props can become downright unfair when you combine them with the FantasyLabs Player Prop tool.
Tuesday’s best props focus on two of the slate’s three games:
- Golden State Warriors at Houston Rockets: 8 p.m. ET on TNT
- Atlanta Hawks and Denver Nuggets: 9 p.m. ET
Let’s dive right in.
Warriors PG Quinn Cook
The Pick: Over 13.5 points (-120)
Steph Curry will miss his third straight game with a groin injury, which should result in another start for Cook.
He’s been excellent while filling in for Curry in the past, averaging 15.6 points per 36 minutes in games with him out of the lineup last season, and he’s cracked the 13.5-point barrier in two of his past three games.
The Warriors could also be without Draymond Green in tonight’s contest, and Cook ranks third on the team with a 26.9% usage rate with both players off the floor this season. The Warriors’ implied team total of 107 points is low by their lofty standards, but they do have a solid matchup vs. the Rockets, who are tied for 19th in defensive efficiency.
Cook is obviously not Curry, but he typically tries to do his best impressive when in the starting lineup. I’d play this prop up to -180 and would take the over up to 14.5 points.
Hawks PG Trae Young
The Pick: Over 16.5 points (-114)
The Hawks have a difficult matchup today vs. the Nuggets, who rank 10th in defensive efficiency, but I still think there’s reason for optimism with Young.
For starters, the Hawks will be without Taurean Prince, who owns the second-highest usage rate on the team. Unsurprisingly, Young has seen a big boost value with Prince off the floor this season, posting a usage rate of 34.3% and averaging 27.6 points per 36 minutes.
I’m a Trae Young believer, so I’m a little more bullish on this prop than the FantasyLabs Player Prop tool. I like the over up to -170 and up to 17.5 points.
