Celtics vs Spurs NBA Preview

In the one instance we've seen these two this season, the Spurs emerged with a 100-95 victory in Boston.

Victor Wembanyama came off the bench, and Jayson Tatum still hadn't returned, so tonight's game will have a different imprint.

The injury report, though, is mostly clean, but the Celtics have an unexpected absence to navigate.

Payton Pritchard (neck) is out for this one, and is slated to miss just his second game of the season.

Nikola Vucevic (finger) is also scheduled to miss, as he could sit for the rest of the month, if not longer.

Harrison Barnes (ankle) is out for the Spurs. Mason Plumlee (reconditioning) is questionable.

Celtics vs Spurs Predictions, Betting Analysis

Julian Champagnie has gone over 14.5 points & rebounds in four straight games; and in seven of his last eight — with the only under coming in an outlier Spurs showing in Madison Square Garden, where the team played terribly and scored only 89 points.

So, I'm throwing that one out.

Champagnie's increased opportunity has seen him log around 28 minutes per game during this stretch.

Without Vucevic on the other side, even after adding in Tatum, the Spurs have a pathway to winning the boards battle at home, providing more opportunities for the supplementary pieces like Champagnie and Keldon Johnson, whose prop line I also considered.

Champagnie is also averaging 14.1 points during this run, including a three-point outing at MSG. He's shooting 54 percent from three on 6.5 attempts per contest in his last eight contests.

Pick: Julian Champagnie Over 14.5 Points & Rebounds (-130)
