Lakers vs Pistons NBA Preview
The Lakers and Pistons will both be short-handed at the top for this one.
The Pistons remain without All-Star guard Cade Cunningham (lung) and Isaiah Stewart (calf) for this one, as well as Marcus Sasser (hip).
For the Lakers, it's more murky.
Marcus Smart (ankle), Rui Hachimura (calf) and Maxi Kleber (back) are all questionable.
Luka Doncic had a technical foul rescinded, meaning he won't serve an automatic suspension for tonight.
Otherwise, monitor the injury report for late pop-ups, especially as it relates to the Lakers.
Lakers vs Pistons Predictions, Betting Analysis
I like Daniss Jenkins over 21.5 points & assists in tonight's matchup. With Cunningham off, Jenkins had 22 points and eight assists last game.
Two games ago, he only finished with nine points and five assists, but not for lack of opportunity, as he shot 3-for-16 in 34 minutes in that game and Detroit won anyway — because, you know, it was the Wizards.
In all likelihood, Jenkins will see a usage rate of 20 or higher, which has been the case all season coming off the bench, as well as his last three outings as a starter.
I expect him to have a significant role in running the offense again against a beatable (though improved) Lakers' defense, who might be missing Smart in this game.
Pick: Daniss Jenkins Over 21.5 Points & Assists (-123)
