The Golden State Warriors host the Los Angeles Lakers in Game 1 of their NBA Western Conference semifinal series on Tuesday night.

Kevon Looney (56% opening tip win rate) will jump against Anthony Davis (56%) for the opening tip-off. Both centers split the opening tip in their four regular-season games.

Over the last 20 games, Looney's opening tip win rate increased significantly, as he won 14-of-20 tip-offs.  On the other end of the spectrum, Davis declined down the stretch, winning just seven of his last 20.

During the season series, Klay Thompson (twice) and Draymond Green each cashed first-basket tickets for the Warriors while Davis cashed the lone first basket for the Lakers.  Thompson actually scored the first team basket in three of the four games against the Lakers this season.

I like Thompson to score first again and will pair him with Andrew Wiggins. The two players have combined to take 56% of early possession shots since Wiggins returned from an extended absence.
