We have two NBA props for this Wednesday, and our staff of basketball betting experts is focused on key players who could be in line for noteworthy performances in Game 5 between the Knicks and Celtics tonight.
Continue below for my NBA player props for Wednesday, May 14.
NBA Player Props for Wednesday, May 14
- Derrick White Over 18.5 Points (-106, FanDuel)
- Payton Pritchard Over 2.5 Three-Pointers Made (-120, BetMGM)
No Jayson Tatum, big problem.
But Derrick White will see more usage out of necessity.
He has had 19 or more all but once this series and had just 17 in his only under. I'd expect a high volume for White, as he's their primary three-point threat, and Boston will likely increase their perimeter shooting without Tatum in the lineup.
Will he be left open as often as he is without Tatum? Maybe not. And he might even have to create more, which is why I'm playing the points instead of just the threes.
But White has been one of my favorite players to back this series, and he has a pathway to coming through again tonight, even if it's at the cost of some efficiency.
Pick: Derrick White Over 18.5 Points (-106, FanDuel)
Without Tatum, don't know who starts, but Payton Pritchard will play. And he should play a ton.
With the line of thinking that Boston will attempt to generate a ton of threes, especially without Tatum, in trying to win that math battle, Pritchard will be a centerpiece.
He went 2-for-7 last game but went over in the two games before, even getting up nine attempts from deep in just 22 minutes in Game 2.
Pritchard has also, for whatever reason, been a match-up problem for the Knicks. And while they'll attempt to attack mismatches, the threes will be paramount in this last ditch attempt to save their season.
Pick: Payton Pritchard Over 2.5 Three-Pointers Made (-120, BetMGM)
