The NBA is back after the All-Star hiatus. 18 teams are in action on Thursday across a nine-game slate as we get into the back half of the season.

The Portland Trail Blazers travel to Sacramento to take on the Kings fresh off Damian Lillard's victory in the 3-Point Contest.

A whole lot of offense is expected for this contest, which has the highest total of the night at 241.5. Portland will be shorthanded as Jusuf Nurkic, Justise Winslow and Anfernee Simons are each out of action.

NBA Same Game Parlay Odds & Picks

The Parlay: (+323)

  • Sacramento Kings -6.5 (-110)
  • De'Aaron Fox 8+ Assists (+140)

Sacramento Kings -6.5 (-110)

The Blazers are missing key weapons for this matchup, and considering their offensive struggles prior to the All-Star break, they may be in some trouble.

In their last game, the Blazers put up 101 points in a blowout loss to the Washington Wizards on 41.9% shooting and 28.6% shooting from beyond the arc.

Portland has struggled defensively all year, particularly in opponent field goal percentage, assists per game and defending the 3. The Blazers are in the bottom 10 in all of those categories.

With the exception of their last game against the Phoenix Suns, the Kings have put up 133, 114, 130 and 140 points in four of their last five games. Sacramento should light up the Trail Blazers (and the Beam) and cover the spread comfortably.

De'Aaron Fox 8+ Assists (+145)

Burned by the extra pass all year, the Trail Blazers rank 26th in opponent assists per game. Against point guards in particular, they surrender an average of 8.8 assists per game. This is a perfect spot for De'Aaron Fox to put up big assist numbers.

Fox is averaging 6.2 dimes per contest and has put up strong assist numbers over his last few matchups versus Portland. Dating back to the 2021-22 season, Fox has logged six or more assists in five of seven contests. His total is set at 6.5, but there appears to be a lot of value taking an alternate number.

Eight is a good number to take at +140, but shopping around on other books, I've seen an alternate line as high as +550. With a lot of offense expected, look for Fox to continue to facilitate.

Pick: Kings -6.5 & Fox 8+ Assists (+323)
