Kings vs Magic NBA Preview
The Kings are still in the running to finish as this year's worst team, but are actually enjoying their most successful month in the 2025-26 season.
Sacramento is 5-7 straight up in March and is leaning into letting its young players take the reins after losing both Zach LaVine and Domantas Sabonis to season-ending injuries earlier in the campaign.
Rookie center Maxime Raynaud has been especially impressive as of late.
Raynaud has averaged 18.9 points and 8.6 rebounds per contest, while shooting 61.4% from the field and 40.0% from deep over his previous 12 games. No Kings player has matched his production as a scorer or rebounder during that stretch.
Raynaud dominated Orlando with 17 points and 14 rebounds in February and can build on that performance in round two of this pairing.
The Magic have fallen well below expectations after adding some much-needed outside shooting to the mix by trading for Desmond Bane over the offseason. Last year's top-scoring defense has taken a major step back, with Franz Wagner on track to miss his 45th game on Thursday.
While Wagner's absence has been felt on both sides of the ball, the Magic are on track to average more than 118.0 points per game for just the second month this season in March.
Paolo Banchero is operating as an effective offensive engine, averaging 26.1 points on 49.4% shooting over his previous 14 outings. His recent consistency gives Orlando a clear edge against a visiting team that has the league's 28th-ranked offense and defense.
Russell Westbrook (toe) and Keegan Murray (ankle) have been ruled out for Sacramento, while Killian Hayes (toe) and Precious Achiuwa (back) are listed as questionable.
Orlando has ruled out Wagner (ankle), Anthony Black (abdominal), and Jonathan Isaac (knee). Jalen Suggs (illness) is questionable for the Magic.
Kings vs Magic Predictions, Betting Analysis
Banchero scored 30 or more points in a game five times between October and February. He's accomplished the feat five times in March alone.
Banchero is taking things into his own hands on offense and has averaged 37.5 points on 50.0% shooting, while hoisting up 23.0 attempts per game in his last two outings.
Suggs could water down his shot volume some if he returns from a two-game layoff, but Banchero also scored 30 points against Sacramento with him in the starting lineup last month.
Banchero's usage is rising, and he's on track to average at least 5.0 assists for a fourth consecutive month.
Pick: Paolo Banchero Over 30.5 Points & Assists (-119)
