The Los Angeles Chargers’ shocking 26-14 Week 1 loss to the Arizona Cardinals dealt a death blow to 30.3% of the Circa Survivor field. Among the record 25,017 entries, Los Angeles was the most-selected team, with 7,585 taking the Bolts.
At $1,000 per entry, that's $7.585 million gone in Week 1. Remaining contestants battle on for the whopping $25.017 million prize.
And in the high-stakes Circa Survivor Grandissimo, at $100,000/entry, L.A.'s loss knocked out 28 of the 77 entries (36.4%). That’s another $2.8 million gone, with 49 entries remaining for the $7.7 million purse.
So, a total of just beyond $10.3 million goes up in smoke in Week 1.
"Week 1 reminded everyone how tough Survivor can be," Circa Sports director of operations Jeff Benson said. "The Chargers wiped out a huge chunk of the field, proving there are no easy picks in the NFL."
