A unique attraction is about to open its doors at the Ocean Casino Resort in Atlantic City.
Ocean’s 18 Mini Golf & Bar will debut next month, bringing a fresh wave of entertainment that goes beyond the usual casino activities.
Covering 8,000 square feet over two levels, Ocean’s 18 is located right next to LaScala’s Fire restaurant. This new venue is designed to entertain both families and adults with its indoor mini-golf course and advanced multimedia features.
12-Foot Hologram Great White Shark Swims Above the Bar
One of the coolest highlights is the holographic display, similar to the impressive visuals at The Sphere in Las Vegas.
Costing around $500,000, this setup includes two major holograms, especially a massive 12-foot Great White Shark that seems to swim right over the main bar. These effects create a fun and immersive atmosphere that guests will love to share with friends.
Part of Ocean’s Larger Expansion
Ocean Casino Resort is undergoing a significant transformation with a $270 million, seven-year renovation plan that began in 2018. As part of this extensive makeover, the resort is investing $50 million specifically in new amenities and property upgrades.
This initiative includes expanding gaming areas, introducing new dining concepts, and redesigning guest rooms, all aimed at diversifying offerings and attracting a wider audience.
Two upcoming restaurants by renowned chef Stephen Starr are among the many exciting new additions. One will serve Thanksgiving-themed dishes, while the other will focus on steak and fries. These restaurants mark Starr's return to Atlantic City after closing Buddakan and Continental in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Central to this revitalization is Ocean’s 18, which resort management describes as a cornerstone in blending traditional casino entertainment with contemporary social experiences. The venue combines bar service, interactive gameplay, and visual technology, encouraging group visits and repeat guests.
Atlantic City’s Push to Redefine Itself
Ocean’s investment comes amid a broader push across Atlantic City to reinvent its image.
After decades of relying heavily on gaming revenue, the city has worked to position itself as a more diverse tourism and leisure destination. Recent projects include new live entertainment venues, non-gaming attractions, and festivals intended to appeal to younger visitors and families.
Economic development officials and resort operators alike have emphasized the importance of attractions like Ocean’s 18 in this transformation. These venues are designed to showcase the city as a modern resort environment that can compete with other entertainment destinations while highlighting its seaside character and history.
When Will Ocean Casino Open the New Mini-Golf?
Ocean’s 18 Mini Golf & Bar is expected to open to the public in January 2026. Once complete, it will add to the growing list of non-gaming experiences reshaping how visitors experience Atlantic City’s Boardwalk resorts.
Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa is also attempting to change the entertainment landscape in Atlantic City by reinventing the former Premier Nightclub. The Monopoly Board Game was the inspiration for a new hotel.
And it appears that moves like this are working.
Atlantic City casinos continue to see an upswing in revenue. In fact, between June and August, the casinos brought in a little more than $855 million, which is almost 6% more than they did during the same months in 2024.
So, adding a little extra incentive for people to come visit Atlantic City is generating income.
