For my top Rams vs. Seahawks NFL PrizePicks and Underdog plays, I’m highlighting Zach Charbonnet, Kyren Williams, and Sam Darnold.
The Seahawks may be slight favorites in this matchup, but trailing in the game script is well within the realm of possibility. A trailing game script opens the door to increased passing volume, which means the running backs should be involved.
Zach Charbonnet has carved out a big role in the offense and outsnapped Kenneth Walker last week for the first time since Week 7. With Charbonnet set to be on the field more, we should see him get at least one look in the passing game.
He has had at least one target in eight of 13 games this season, and has gained positive yardage in seven of those.
Sticking to our game script, the Rams are going to gain the lead by controlling the trenches. Lead back Kyren Williams figures to be a big part of that. Williams has been consistent despite Blake Corum receiving more touches.
Williams has exceeded this total in 11-of-14 games this season, including a 91-yard performance against Seattle, where he averaged 6.1 yards per carry.
Now, the Seahawks are a tough matchup on paper, ranking third in yards per rush allowed, but that, combined with the increase in Corum's workload, has made this number far too low.
It seems odd phrasing it this way, but buy the dip on Williams as he's given up no reason to fade him tonight.
Sam Darnold is not the first name to come to mind when thinking of a mobile quarterback.
Although Darnold has used his legs consistently this season, he has recorded at least one rush attempt in nine of 14 games.
In the first meeting this season, Darnold rushed for 11 yards on two carries. The Rams are second in quarterback sack rate, so Darnold is likely to have to use his legs to escape pressure once again.
We should see him tuck the ball and run at least twice in this matchup, which will be more than enough to surpass this total.
