Lumen Field plays host to the USMNT’s Round of 16 game against Belgium on Monday, with a space in the quarterfinals and a game against either Portugal or Spain on the line. Confidence is high, but can Mauricio Pochettino’s team secure passage into the next round?
USA vs Belgium odds price the United States at +175 on the moneyline and Belgium at +160. The over/under is 2.5 (-138o / 112u), and the USMNT is -750 to cover the spread (+1.5), while the Europeans are +410 to cover (-1.5).

USA vs Belgium Betting Preview
The US defeated Bosnia 2-0 last time out in a game that was equal parts joy and disappointment. The performance was strong and, despite marginally worse numbers in terms of possession, shots and shots on target, they were the better team. At no point did Pochettino’s side look beaten, and an assured, confident display gave hope that the team could go deep here.
It should be business as usual for the USMNT, who’ll stick with their 4-2-3-1 formation. Christian Pulisic getting through that win over Bosnia was a big positive, and that left-hand side with him and fullback Antonee Robinson is a key threat here.
USA's Projected Starting Lineup
- Goalkeeper: Matt Freese
- Defenders: Alex Freeman, Tim Ream, Chris Richards, Antonee Robinson
- Midfielders: Malik Tillman, Tyler Adams, Weston McKennie
- Forwards: Sergino Dest, Christian Pulisic, Ricardo Pepi
USMNT Pick: USA Moneyline Prediction
I really am bullish on the USMNT’s hopes here.
The width of Pulisic on the left and Sergino Dest on the right will test Belgium’s fullbacks, who aren’t that dynamic.
On the whole, this is a Belgium team that is a long way from the golden generation we’ve seen at previous World Cups, both in talent and athleticism.
Jeremy Doku’s pace is a real threat, especially if he can find himself matched up against Tim Ream. Besides him, Leandro Trossard is a good, not great, player at Arsenal, and both Romelu Lukaku and Kevin De Bruyne are a long way from their peak.
The Belgians are just about favorites here, but when you really dig into the teams, it’s far closer, and I’d argue the US are now better. Belgium haven’t looked like a coherent team at all, just a mixture of players who haven’t really bought in. The speed and experience of Chris Richards and Robinson in the back four will be essential to winning here, allowing Ream to do what he does best and to cover his aging, slow legs.
There are goals across the team, with Malik Tillman, Tyler Adams, Weston McKennie, Pulisic and Dest all very capable of both creating and finishing attacks.
This is a USMNT team who are confident and in the ascendancy, while Belgium are stuck between generations. The home team will get over the line and secure the win.
