Jamie Wright
I played lots of poker in my teenage years and early 20s, and even occasionally won! I’ve also been known to have a few turns on the slots, plus I like to place wagers on major sports events, like the Grand National, as well as the Premier League.
I studied English at school and university, which I guess is apt, considering I’m now an editor. Although writing about online casinos is a long way from studying Shakespeare and Byron!
Casino Experience & Gaming Preferences
The first (legal) casino I ever visited was onboard a P&O cruise ship, on a trip around the Mediterranean. I played blackjack and slots, mainly alongside the elderly and drunk, and won nothing.
Writing & Industry Expertise
Only write about casinos if you enjoy playing casino games. Also, make sure you have a solid grasp not only of how and where to play, plus always remember to be responsible - never prioritise clicks over the mental health of people reading.
Casino Industry Insights & Trends
Aside from the casino bobbing around on the Med, I’ve never visited a casino outside the UK. However, I’d love to visit a large casino resort in the US, plus Macau looks pretty interesting!
Fun & Personalized Questions
What’s one non-casino-related skill or hobby you’re passionate about?
I love watching sport - I watch as much football and American football as I can, but my number one favourite is cricket, as it should be for any good Englishman.
What’s your guilty pleasure game—something you know isn’t the best odds, but you love playing it anyway?
I’m pretty analytical when I play, but I do enjoy buying the occasional scratchcard! I also like placing wagers on the underdog - it’s much more enjoyable than betting on the favourite!
