The film industry’s awards season crosses the Atlantic for the 79th edition of the BAFTA Awards. One Battle After Another, directed by Paul Thomas Anderson, leads the British Academy nominations with 14, followed closely by Sinners, from Ryan Coogler, with 13.

The ceremony will take place at the Royal Festival Hall on Sunday, February 22, and will be hosted for the first time by Scottish actor Alan Cumming. In the United States, the ceremony will air on E! at 8 p.m. ET.

If you want to get in on the action and make a prediction about the BAFTA Awards, Kalshi allows users in most of the 50 U.S. states to make predictions and win real money. We wrote a full explainer on how it works here and have a Kalshi promo code to help you get started.

2026 BAFTA Awards Odds

There are 25 total categories, including specific awards geared toward British projects. Among the most prominent are Best Film, Leading Actor, Leading Actress, Best Director, Supporting Actor, and Supporting Actress.

BAFTA Best Film Odds

In Best Film, by a wide margin, the main favorite on Kalshi is One Battle After Another, which was already a winner at the Golden Globe Awards in the Musical or Comedy category, and is also a leading contender for the upcoming Academy Awards.

If any film can challenge it, all signs point to Hamnet, which also won a Golden Globe for Best Drama. Though it trails in the race, it has the advantage of centering on a fictional portrayal of William Shakespeare at an awards ceremony on British soil.

BAFTA Best Director Odds

A similar dynamic appears in the Best Director race. Paul Thomas Anderson is the overwhelming favorite for One Battle After Another, followed at a distance by Chloé Zhao (Hamnet) and Ryan Coogler (Sinners).

BAFTA Leading Actor Odds

That two-horse race breaks in the Leading Actor category. Timothée Chalamet is not only the clear favorite for his role in Marty Supreme, but contracts backing him show an upward trend.

Far behind is Leonardo DiCaprio, who already has a BAFTA on his shelf for his leading role in The Revenant exactly 10 years ago. With slimmer chances are other nominees such as Robert Aramayo (Swear), Ethan Hawke (Blue Moon), and Michael B. Jordan (Sinners).

BAFTA Leading Actress Odds

One likely winner already preparing an acceptance speech is Jessie Buckley, star of Hamnet. Contracts backing the Irish actress to win stand at 97% probability.

BAFTA Supporting Actress Odds

The Supporting Actress race is tighter. Teyana Taylor leads on Kalshi, and is followed by Inga Ibsdotter Lilleaas (Sentimental Value). Meanwhile, Wunmi Mosaku is trending downward in winner contracts.

BAFTA Supporting Actor Odds

A similar pattern appears in the Supporting Actor category. Stellan Skarsgard tops the list with roughly a 65% chance of winning, and while Paul Mescal trails at 24%, contracts backing him are trending upward. Further behind are Jacob Elordi (Frankenstein), Benicio Del Toro, and Sean Penn (both for One Battle After Another).

What is Kalshi?

Different than a traditional sportsbook and available in most 50 states, Kalshi allows users to make predictions across several unique markets, including sports, entertainment, elections, and even weather.

Kalshi operates on a contract-based system where users buy "contracts" (priced between 1–99 cents) based on whether they believe a specific event will happen. The price of each contract fluctuates in real time based on market sentiment and like the stock market, traders can sell positions early to lock in profits (or minimize losses).
