Following a surprisingly dry 2025 season, the weather hasn't been kind to NASCAR in 2026.
The Cook Out Clash at Bowman Gray Stadium was postponed twice due to Winter Storm Gianna and still had a delay for rain, and even some sleet, during the race.
Unfortunately, rain looks like it's once again in the picture according to the updated Daytona 500 weather report.
Sunday's Daytona 500 weather forecast is calling for wet conditions, which could result in a delay depending on the timing of the precipitation.
In fact, NASCAR already moved up the start of the Daytona 500 one hour to 1:30 p.m. ET (FOX) to try and get ahead of the rain.
Below is a detailed look at the latest Daytona 500 weather report, including when the heaviest rain is expected to fall Sunday.
Daytona 500 Weather Report
According to the National Weather Service, there's a 30% chance of rain Sunday in Daytona, Fla., which then increases to 90% tonight.
With a 1:30 p.m. ET green flag, the timing of any potential rain is extremely important when we start projecting the chances of a Daytona 500 delay.
Specifically, the hourly breakdown shows just a 4% chance of rain at 1 p.m. ET, which then increases incrementally to 47% by 6 p.m. ET, providing a nice window for the Daytona 500 to go the full distance should this forecast hold true.
For those curious, the Daytona 500 will be official at the half-way mark of the race, which is upon completion of lap 100 of the scheduled 200-lap event.
Daytona International Speedway does have lights, and while the forecast isn't optimistic about racing once the sun sets, NASCAR does have the option if the track is dry enough to do so.
Updated Daytona 500 odds at bet365 show Kyle Busch at the race favorite at +1000, followed by Ryan Blaney (+1200), Joey Logano (+1200), Chase Elliott (+1200) and Denny Hamlin (+1400).
