Nets vs Knicks NBA Preview
This isn't considered a rivalry in New York City, I can tell you firsthand.
The Knicks own the city, and right now it's actually for the worse, given their recent play.
New York is 2-9 in its last 11 games and down to 7-11 since winning the NBA Cup last month. Moreover, they suffered the dreaded loud national TV loss at home, 114-97, to the Dallas Mavericks' B team while fully healthy.
The sky is falling in my city, but I'd be lying if I said this wasn't entertaining as hell. Seriously.
And oh, the Nets. They've somehow outdone the Knicks, losing 10 of their last 12, but they want to do that. The Knicks don't.
Injury-wise, the Knicks' report is clean once again as of this morning.
For Brooklyn, Haywood Highsmith, who has yet to play this season, remains out (knee). Day'Ron Sharpe (illness) is questionable.
Nets vs Knicks Prediction, Betting Analysis
Karl-Anthony Towns hasn't been as good as his counting stats suggest this season. His defense has regressed after a decent start, he leads the league in offensive (re: silly) fouls, and his shooting is nearly the worst it's been in his career.
All that said, this should be the bounce-back spot for him and the Knicks. Should be. If you actually watch games, cover the league, consume the product, and/or gamble on it, then you know it’s not infallible. Nothing is.
That said, should there be an effort to get KAT involved against the Nets? Yes. Has Brooklyn been a matchup that KAT has absolutely owned? Yes. And should we consider the Knicks a desperate team at this point? Also yes.
KAT Over 32.5 points + rebounds is what I logged in the Action App last night. As a Knick, he’s posted the following lines across four games against the Nets: 26 and 15, 25 and 16, 28 and 12, and 37 and 12. That’s 40 or more PR in every game.
KAT isn’t exactly one of my favorite players to watch or back, but I like the spot, I like the matchup, and I even like the intangible aspect of tonight. We’ll see what happens.
Pick: Karl-Anthony Towns Over 32.5 Points + Rebounds (-126, DraftKings)
