- Where LeBron James will play next season is already one of the biggest storylines in the NBA right now.
- Just days ago, the Los Angeles Lakers were listed at 20-1 to win the 2018-19 NBA Championship at the Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook.
- According to Westgate’s updated NBA futures, the Lakers have moved to 14-1, suggesting they’re a real player to add LeBron.
Earlier this week, The Action Network’s NBA guru Matt Moore wrote a fantastic piece forecasting potential landing spots for LeBron James based on early 2018-19 NBA Championship odds from the Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook.
In a few short days, championship futures have shifted with the Los Angeles Lakers jumping from 20-1 up to 14-1. The Lakers’ current roster obviously isn’t talented enough to compete next season on its own, but the cap room to land Paul George, and maybe even James, makes them an interesting team to watch.
Here are the current Westgate NBA futures, compared to odds from June 2:
The Houston Rockets remain at 7-2 to win the 2018-19 title, but their chances to land King James next season have improved greatly in recent weeks.
With the Lakers moving up, the Miami Heat appear to be the big losers, dropping from 20-1 to 50-1. The San Antonio Spurs and Toronto Raptors are also notable teams to fall, with the Spurs dropping from 25-1 to 30-1 and the Raptors from 40-1 to 50-1.
And in case there are any Atlanta Hawks fans, your team’s odds remain steady at a 1000-1. At least they didn’t get worse, right?
