Pelicans C Jahlil Okafor
The Pick: Under 1.5 assists (-110)
It’s always scary to bet the under on a really small number, but this is one of the highest-rated bets in the Player Props Tool. Okafor “exploded” for four assists in his most recent contest, but he’s not exactly known as a passer.
He’s recorded zero assists in five of his past seven contests and has averaged just 1.3 assists per 36 minutes this season. Okafor also has a difficult matchup vs. the Indiana Pacers, who rank third in defensive efficiency.
This line feels inflated from his last outing, so I’m looking to take advantage. I’d play the under up to -130.
Rockets PF/C Kenneth Faried
The Pick: Over 9.5 rebounds (-160)
Faried continues to provide the Rockets with valuable minutes at the center position. He’s pulled down at least 10 rebounds in four of his past five games, including 12 in just 20.2 minutes in his most recent contest.
He should return to his normal workload today in a really friendly matchup vs. the Phoenix Suns. They’ve posted the worst team rebound rate in the league this season, so Faried should be able to do some damage on the glass.
I love Faried’s rebound prospects in this matchup and would play the over up to -175. I’d also play the over at 10.0 rebounds up to -125.
