Friday’s Best NBA Player Props: Betting Hassan Whiteside Points, More

Friday’s best player props focus on three of the slate's eight games:

• Cleveland Cavaliers at Washington Wizards: 7 p.m. ET
• New York Knicks at Detroit Pistons: 7 p.m. ET
• Miami Heat at Sacramento Kings: 10 p.m. ET

Cavaliers PF Larry Nance Jr.

The Pick: Under 9.5 rebounds (-150)

The Cavaliers did a great job stockpiling assets before the trade deadline, but the biggest news is that Kevin Love could return to the lineup tonight. He’s expected to be limited if he is active, but his presence still would result in a diminished role for Nance Jr.

He has averaged just 7.7 rebounds per game this season, but the fact that he pulled down at least 11 boards in each of his past three games has caused this line to become inflated.

The under on the prop is already juiced up pretty significantly, but it still owns a Bet Quality of 10 in the Player Prop tool. I’d play it up to -180.

Knicks F Kevin Knox

The Pick: Over 3.5 rebounds (-165)

You have to lay a lot of juice with this prop, but Knox should be able to grab at least four rebounds pretty easily.

He has pulled down at least five rebounds in three of his past four games, including seven rebounds in his most recent contest. That game came against the Detroit Pistons, and he’ll face the same team today.

Knox has played big minutes for the Knicks recently and should continue to be a huge factor for them down the stretch. I like the over up to -200.

Heat C Hassan Whiteside

The Pick: Over 12.5 points (-130)

It’s almost never smart to trust Whiteside, but I just can’t help myself today with him facing the Kings. He has played at least 30 minutes in each of his past two games, and Whiteside has averaged 18.3 points per 36 minutes this season.

The Kings also represent an excellent matchup. They’ve played at the second fastest pace this season, and they’ve struggled against opposing centers in particular.

This is just too enticing a spot to pass up. I like the over up to -150.
