The New York Knicks were able to pull off an upset in Game 1 of their opening round series against the Cleveland Cavaliers too snag the home-court advantage. Game 2 was a dominant Cavaliers performance on both ends of the floor where they held the Knicks to just 90 points on 36.7% shooting from the floor.

If the Knicks want to get the job done and take a 2-1 lead on the series in Game 3, they will need more out of their key players and need some of their role players like Immanuel Quickley and Josh Hart to have a bigger impact.

For the Cavaliers, getting more scoring production out of Donovan Mitchell is likely the game plan. In the opener he shot 14-of-30 including six made 3-point shots. Along with Mitchell continue to have their bench involved and getting the same kind of production out of Caris LeVert may be key to sneaking out a road win with the series tied 1-1.

I've put together a two-leg same game parlay for Friday's Cavaliers vs Knicks matchup featuring a first-half bet and a player prop.

NBA Same Game Parlay Odds & Pick

The Parlay: (+238)

  • New York Knicks First Half Winner 3-Way (-135)
  • Donovan Mitchell to Record 6+ Assists (-128)

New York Knicks First Half Winner 3-Way

The Knicks in the regular season were one of the highest scoring teams in the first half of games averaging 60.4 on their home floor. This will be the first game played at Madison Square Garden during this best-of-seven series and it looks like the Knicks are primed for another good home showing.

In the Knicks' best offensive showing in Game 1, this stat rang true as they were able to put up 50 first half points and outscore the Cavaliers by five points early on. In the regular season, they were the second-most profitable team to bet straight up in the first half as a home favorite (21-8, +$377), according to Bet Labs. As for the Cavaliers, they haven't been a strong first half team for most of the season (20-19-2, -$215). Expect that trend to continue into Game 3.

Donovan Mitchell to Record 6+ Assists

Despite getting the win as home favorites, Mitchell only attempted 11 shots. The Knicks did a good job forcing him to pass and get other players involved.

Through two postseason games, Mitchell has logged way above his average in assists. Game 1 saw him dish out eight assists, and Game 2 saw a season high 13.

There's no doubt the Cavaliers need to get Mitchell more involved offensively, but if the Knicks continue to throw bodies at him and implement the same game plan — having players other than Mitchell beat them — he may continue to find the same success.

With his newer resurgence as a playmaker not only over the two postseason games, but all season long as well, expect Mitchell to continue to find the open man and stuff the stat sheet.

Pick: Knicks 1H ML + Michell 6+ Assists (+238)
