Trail Blazers vs Clippers NBA Preview

Portland is exceeding expectations in the 2025-26 season.

The Trail Blazers are firmly in play-in conversation as the Western Conference's ninth-ranked team and have managed to improve upon last year's 12th-place finish after trading away Anfernee Simons and waiving Deandre Ayton over the offseason.

The Blazers' role players from the 2024-25 roster have stepped up in a major way since those moves were made.

Deni Avdija has blossomed into a first-time All-Star with career highs in points (23.8) and assists (6.7) per game. Donovan Clingan is a walking double-double as a full-time starter and leads the league in offensive rebounds per game (4.6).

Portland will likely need significant contributions from both players on Tuesday against one of the league's hottest offenses, especially with two of its top-three scorers out of commission.

The Clippers have racked up 125.4 points per contest during their current five-game winning streak.

Kawhi Leonard, Darius Garland, and Bennedict Mathurin have been the driving forces behind that success. All three of them are averaging more than 20.0 points per game in March.

Few teams can match a trio with that kind of production. The Trail Blazers were 0-2 straight up against the Clippers before they traded away James Harden and upgraded their offense, so round three could be even more of a challenge.

Shaedon Sharpe (calf) and Jerami Grant (calf) have been ruled out for Portland. Isaiah Jackson (ankle) has been ruled out for Los Angeles.

Trail Blazers vs Clippers Predictions, Betting Analysis

Avdija is the only player on the Blazers who plays more minutes per game than Toumani Camara (33.9) when Grant is out of commission. This is a prime spot for the 3-and-D wing to hoist up some shots from distance.

Camara averages 3.2 made triples per game when Grant doesn't suit up this season, while chucking up 7.7 attempts from distance in each outing. The Dayton product converted those opportunities at an impressive 41.5% clip.

Portland needs some extra pop on offense, and it's clear that Camara is among the top candidates to benefit from a boost in shot volume.

Pick: Toumani Camara Over 2.5 Three-Pointers Made (+102)
