Auburn vs Florida College Basketball Betting Preview

Auburn Basketball

It's been a rollercoaster of a first season for head coach Steven Pearl.

Auburn comes into the game 12-7 overall and 3-3 in the SEC after its 78-66 win at Ole Miss. Four of the five starters scored in double figures, led by Keyshawn Hall's 19.

Hall had big performances for the Tigers a couple of weeks ago when he had back-to-back 32-point outings against Texas A&M and Arkansas at home.

He's struggled from the field away from home, even in the Ole Miss win. Currently, he averages 16 points on 35/23/87 splits on the road compared to 23 points on 55/51/87 splits at home.

Outside of Hall having to be efficient from the field, Auburn is going to have to gang rebound on the defensive side of the ball, as its lives depend on it.

Hall leads the team in rebounding, but again, he's significantly better at home, averaging 8.7 boards a game, compared to 5.7 on the road.

Florida Basketball

Florida is now 14-5 overall (5-1 in the SEC) and has won five straight.

When Florida wins, it usually crushes teams, with 12 of its 14 wins having been by double digits.

Rueben Chinyelu has been the best post player in college basketball in the last two weeks and is coming off a 15-point, 21-rebound performance where 10 of those rebounds were offensive.

Florida has a ridiculous 42.4% offensive rebounding percentage and will continue to dominate the glass against every opponent it plays.

Boogie Fland (post-haircut) and Xaivian Lee have had nice performances for the Gators, but the most consistent guard for them in the last two weeks has been Urban Klavzar.

He provides immediate shot-making for a Gator team that ranks 14th in conference play at 29.7% from 3. Klavzar has scored in double figures in four out of the last five games, including 18 points on five made 3s against LSU.

Thomas Haugh has played his best ball on the road this season, but with him coming off a seven-point performance on 2-of-11 shooting, look for Haugh to be aggressive early.

Auburn vs. Florida Betting Analysis

In SEC play, Florida has the best offense and defense in the conference. It crushes opposing defenses on the offensive glass and eliminates opposing offenses from the offensive glass.

Florida is at home and is playing arguably the best basketball in the country right now.

The Gators will lean on the Tigers' defense and eventually crush it and their spirits, as they have with all teams recently. I think Auburn has no answer for the talent and physicality Florida's frontcourt has.

My Pick: Florida -9.5
