Florida vs Oklahoma College Basketball Betting Preview

Florida Basketball

Maybe all Florida needed this whole time was for Boogie Fland to get a haircut.

Fland had his best game as a Gator in their 24-point win against Tennessee, scoring 23 points on 9-of-13 shooting, while recording five assists and four steals. If Florida can get anywhere close to that production from Fland moving forward, the SEC will have to watch out.

What makes Florida scary is that Thomas Haugh had a quiet offensive game in its 91-67 win against Tennessee. He did have five steals — helping Florida smother the Vols — but if I'm an Oklahoma fan, I'm not looking forward to the possibility that Haugh has a strong bounce-back performance.

Lastly, Florida's strength all season — and in this game — will be its frontcourt dominance. Whether it's scoring in the paint, dominating the glass or being physical on defense, Florida owns the interior.

Rueben Chinyelu is the anchor of this team and is coming off a career game against Tennessee. I expect him to have another double-digit rebounding performance on Tuesday.

Oklahoma Basketball

Oklahoma has dropped two straight and sits at 11-5 overall and 1-2 in the SEC.

Nijel Pack is still playing college basketball somehow, and is coming off a 24-point, six 3-pointer performance.

He leads the team in scoring with 16 points per game, and if Oklahoma wants any chance of winning this game, Pack needs to be aggressive when Xaivian Lee is matched up with him.

Alabama transfer Derrion Reid is coming off his best game in a Sooner uniform. He had a double-double with 19 points on 4-of-5 shooting from 3 with 11 rebounds.

It's going to take all five guys on the floor for Oklahoma to keep the rebounding respectable, and the Sooners need Reid to be as aggressive on the glass as he was against Texas A&M.

Florida vs. Oklahoma Betting Analysis

Florida is still the No. 1 offensive rebounding team in the country and is playing an opponent that's susceptible to giving up offensive rebounds.

In Oklahoma's loss at Mississippi State, the Sooners lost the rebounding margin by 11 and gave up 17 offensive boards.

Florida should dominate the paint, and any offensive production out of its backcourt is icing on the cake in this matchup.

Lastly, the Gators' defense has proven it travels well. I think they'll make things difficult for Oklahoma and the Sooners will struggle to run their half-court sets.

My Pick: Florida -5 (Play to -5.5)
