Le Moyne vs Fairleigh Dickinson College Basketball Betting Preview

Le Moyne Basketball
The Dolphins enter this contest with a subpar 9-10 overall record on the season, but winning four of their first six conference games has put them in decent shape to contend for the NEC title.
Tom Niland, who served as head coach for the Dolphins for 25 years, hung it up in 2018 after an extremely successful tenure that led Le Moyne to six Division II NCAA Tournament appearances. Upon his retirement, he handed the reins to one of his former players – Nate Champion.
Champion began his tenure as Le Moyne head coach at the start of the 2019 season, which turned into a successful inaugural season as the Dolphins won the NE10 Southwest Division. However, they unfortunately failed to win their conference tournament.
Le Moyne posted overall records below .500 in each of the next five seasons of Champion’s tenure.
After a brutal start to 2025-26, the Dolphins have won three of their last four games and appear to be gaining some momentum as they head further into their conference schedule.
While Le Moyne appears to be heating up, a deeper look into efficiency metrics leaves me concerned about the future direction of the Champion-led squad.
While Le Moyne ranks outside the top 240 in the country in offensive efficiency, according to KenPom, star forward Shilo Jackson has been playing extremely well for the Dolphins on both ends of the floor. Through their first 19 contests, the 6-foot-9 senior is posting 14.8 points and 8.3 rebounds per game.
Junior guard Trent Mosquera has also been very effective throughout his 2026 campaign, averaging 13.8 points and 5.7 rebounds over the Dolphins’ first 19 games.

Fairleigh Dickinson Basketball
Fairleigh Dickinson is one of the more well-known teams in the NEC, mainly due to its spectacular upset over No. 1 seed Purdue in 2023, becoming just the second No. 16 seed to take down a No. 1 seed in NCAA Tournament history.
Tobin Anderson made headlines for his relentless full-court press and slow-paced offense that really challenged Painter’s Boilermakers to play at a far slower pace than they had been accustomed to in the Big Ten.
Unfortunately for the Knights, Anderson used that big victory to spring into a better head coaching position with Iona, leaving Fairleigh Dickinson in limbo, particularly from a recruiting standpoint.
Upon hiring Jack Castleberry to his first-ever collegiate head coaching position, the Knights remained in free fall, finishing each of the next three seasons with an overall record below .500.
The bad luck has continued for the first-time head coach, with Fairleigh Dickinson entering Monday night’s conference battle having won just six of its first 19 games in 2026.
The Knights are one of the least efficient teams in all of college basketball on the offensive end of the floor, ranking 329th, according to KenPom. While they're averaging over 68 points per game on the offense, they're shooting terribly both inside the lane and from beyond the arc.
While the Knights’ backcourt does have some promise, with seniors Joey Niesman and Eric Parnell both averaging in double figures, the rest of their lineup is dreadful, with zero depth whatsoever on their bench.
It doesn't get much better for Castleberry’s bunch on the other end of the floor, also ranking outside the top 300 in defensive efficiency.

Le Moyne vs. Fairleigh Dickinson Betting Analysis
Monday's NEC matchup will definitely be a slow-paced affair featuring half-court sets and not many points scored in transition on either side.
I expect an ugly 40 minutes filled with turnovers and an array of bad shot-taking.
I want absolutely nothing to do with this matchup, honestly. However, for the sake of making a prediction, there remains nothing inspiring me to back the Knights here even on their home floor.
I won't be betting on this NEC matchup, but my lean is definitely on the superior roster — the Le Moyne Dolphins.
My Pick: Lean Le Moyne -2.5
