**Daily reminder that preseason is an absolute shitshow where we are essentially making educated guesses** McVay never takes preseason seriously, but we’re in a unique spot where he’s probably going to give 1st-round pick Ty Simpson extensive action again (who looked great last week). That gives the Rams a much better QB situation than we would typically expect from a McVay preseason team. Meanwhile, the Saints should split the game roughly three ways between Rattler/Wilson/Dekkers. Wilson is obviously a “bust” at this point in his career, but on a day where we’re going to see a TON of shitty QBs, he’s actually been solid in preseason and is someone I would consider an above-average QB on today’s slate. Rattler is so volatile that even his bad plays tend to help the over. The Rams’ backup defense held the Chiefs to just 12 points last week, but I still think this could be a shaky unit overall. That’s why, despite liking the Rams’ setup with Simpson, I’d rather attack Over 36.5 than Rams +2.5. I don’t expect a 50+ point shootout and wouldn’t be shocked if this game somehow only nets 10 points lol, but there’s enough here for me to want the over, especially with 37 being a pretty key number.
