Cowboys vs Chiefs Preview, Parlay Picks
The Chiefs and the Cowboys will clash from the Lone Star State on Thanksgiving afternoon. Dallas playing on Turkey Day has been an NFL tradition since 1966, when it defeated the Cleveland Browns.
The Cowboys are 34-22-1 on Thanksgiving. Dallas is coming off a 21-0 comeback win against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday. Dak Prescott leads the team with 2,941 passing yards, 23 touchdowns and seven interceptions.
Kansas City enters the contest with a record of 6-5. Andy Reid’s team picked up a crucial come-from-behind overtime win over the Colts on Sunday. The win was much needed as K.C. is in unfamiliar territory, battling for a playoff spot as December nears.
Two-time MVP Patrick Mahomes leads the team with 2,977 passing yards, 18 touchdowns, and seven picks.
Chiefs -3 (-105)
Both teams come into the game with momentum, but I love this spot for K.C.
The difference in this game will be the Chiefs defense. I expect Kansas City to be the better defensive team and get more key stops in this contest.
Our Evan Abrams notes in his Turkey Day betting primer that the Chiefs are the only road favorites on Thanksgiving. History has been kind to Thanksgiving road favorites as they are 20-6 against the spread (ATS) since 2004.
K.C. desperately needs a road win, and I trust Mahomes more than Prescott (who is 2-5 ATS on Thanksgiving) in this must-win game. Mahomes in his career on short rest is 19-3 straight up (SU).
