Islanders vs. Rangers Preview
This should be an interesting rivalry matchup, with both teams coming off impressive performances but entering from very different positions.
The Islanders are 1-1-0 after bouncing back from a 2-1 loss to the Maple Leafs with a dominant 6-0 win over the Devils. Brayden Schenn and Casey Cizikas each recorded a goal and an assist, while Ilya Sorokin made 37 saves to earn the shutout.
The Islanders looked much more comfortable at home against New Jersey, but now they'll have to prove they can bring that same level of play on the road. They're 0-1-0 away from home so far, and facing the Rangers at Madison Square Garden should be a much tougher test.
The Rangers enter with a better overall record at 3-1-0 and have won three straight after the Bruins shut them out 3-0 in the opener. The Rangers are also 2-0-0 at home, with wins over the Lightning and Mammoth, making their home ice a significant factor in this matchup.
