World Cup odds bring a popular U.S. squad into the 48-team tournament fold today. It’s USA vs. Paraguay in prime time from Los Angeles, with the host country a favorite to start strong.

Team USA is quite popular among the four teams in today’s two matches. At BetMGM, the U.S. has taken six times more moneyline bets than any of the other three teams.

Read on for more from BetMGM on how wagering sits for USA vs. Paraguay odds.

USA vs Paraguay Odds

Much like all the opening matches, USA vs. Paraguay odds have been on the World Cup betting board for months. So there’s quite a bit of action already, as of 10 a.m. ET, 11 hours before this match begins.

Rest assured, though, the majority of tickets and dollars are still to come in those 11 hours.

BetMGM opened the three-way moneyline at USA +125/Paraguay +165/Draw +225. Now, the USMNT is at +105, with Paraguay +290 and Draw +105.

Similar to Mexico in Thursday’s opening World Cup match — a 2-0 El Tri win over South Africa — the U.S. is getting overwhelming support at BetMGM. Team USA is grabbing 88% of bets/90% of money, while underdog Paraguay is seeing just 6% of bets/7% of money. Draw is at 6% of tickets/3% of money.

“Paraguay or Draw would be a massive result for the house,” BetMGM trading manager Seamus Magee said. “There are going to be a lot of slips with USA moneyline, Christian Pulisic to score anytime, Over 2.5 goals, etc.

“We’re expecting to see a lot of USA action, [today] through the rest of the month.”
