BJ started betting as a freshman in college and got his first job as a part-time contract writer for Action in January 2020, eventually getting hired full-time.

Prior to joining Action, BJ worked for six years as a financial auditor in Des Moines, Iowa.

BJ’s soccer handicapping involves taking a deeper dive into the tactics of European soccer and how they can be applied to the betting market and be integrated with the advanced data on a particular team.

Betting markets are constantly evolving and getting more efficient, so BJ focuses on looking deeper into his methods and projections to ensure he is not just consistently making +EV bets, but getting closing line value as well.

BJ graduated from Central College in Pella, Iowa, with a degree in accounting and minors in business management and Spanish. He played baseball and tennis during his time at Central College.
