3 NBA Props for Monday: Whiteside Over/Under 10 Rebounds?
The Warriors and 76ers looked like world-beaters on the opening day of the NBA Playoffs, easily cruising to Game 1 victories on Saturday in their respective first-round series. Will the Spurs and Heat bounce back? And more importantly, how can we profit off of the fluid rotations of each of these squads?
Here are three props from Monday's two-game NBA on TNT slate that could provide value:
- Hassan Whiteside over/under 10 rebounds (at PHI) — 8 p.m. ET
- Kelly Olynyk over 13 points (at PHI) — 8 p.m. ET
- Danny Green over/under 9 points (at GS) — 10:30 p.m. ET
All lines accurate as of Monday, April 16 at 5 p.m. ET. Looking for more props? Check out the FantasyLabs Player Props tool.
Heat C Hassan Whiteside Under 10 Rebounds vs. 76ers (-150)
8 p.m. ET | TNT
In this first game on Saturday, Whiteside played just 12 minutes and recorded two points and six rebounds. He was a huge non-factor, and that's likely to continue Monday with Joel Embiid still out for the Sixers. Another one of Miami's centers, Kelly Olynyk (more on him in a second), has been the superior player this season. The Heat have been 12.1 points per 100 possessions better with Olynyk on the floor versus off but 4.2 points per 100 possessions worse with Whiteside on. The difference between the centers is particularly huge on offense, and without having to worry about the big body of Embiid, Heat coach Erik Spoelstra would be wise to get as much shooting as possible on the floor versus Philly's potent offense. That likely means another small workload for Whiteside.
Heat C Kelly Olynyk Over 13 points vs. 76ers (-125)
8 p.m. ET | TNT
If you go under on the Whiteside bet, it'll likely hit because Olynyk gets the majority of the minutes at center again. Olynyk is coming off a fantastic game in which he scored 26 points and grabbed seven boards in 30.1 minutes of action. He went 9-of-13 from the field and 4-of-5 from downtown, and the Heat desperately need his floor spacing for the rest of the series. Correlate your props here and double down on Miami's rotation switch.
Spurs SG Danny Green Under 9 Points vs. Warriors (-130)
10:30 p.m. ET | TNT
Green has been under nine points in each of his past six games and hasn't even been above six field-goal attempts in any of his past four. He played 21.4 minutes in Game 1 versus the Warriors but scored just six points. Even if his minutes go up, he will have a brutal defensive assignment at all times. He'll be tasked with tracking either Klay Thompson or Kevin Durant while he's on the floor, and that will be his priority over looking for offense at the other end. The under here is certainly the sharp bet tonight.
