The Clippers finally earned a marquee win against their rival Denver Nuggets. This was a much needed win as the Clippers have struggled mightily since acquiring James Harden. The Nuggets had won eight straight games against the Clippers so this win was vital for their confidence. The Clippers are hoping they can build off this win against a very injured Jazz team. Despite all of the perceived struggles, the Clippers still rank eighth in net-rating and have a 10-10 record. They will have a clear edge in this matchup as the Jazz will be missing their two best scorers in Lauri Markkanen and Jordan Clarkson. The Jazz do not have a ton of competent wing defenders to match up with all of the star power of LA, so look for the Clippers to have success on the offensive end here.

On the defensive end, the Clippers rank fifth in defensive rating (110.6) on the year. They should be able to continue to their stifling defense here as the Jazz rank 26^th in offensive rating on the year. With Clarkson and Markkanen off the floor, the Jazz have been awful offensively averaging just 101.7 points per 100 possessions. Despite their offensive struggles, the Jazz should come out motivated here after losing by 50 to the Mavericks on Wednesday. I expect to see a ton of effort from this Jazz team tonight. One thing the Jazz have done well is get up lots of three pointers, as they rank seventh in the NBA in offensive three point attempt rate. The Clippers prioritize taking away the rim on defense so the Jazz may have an edge here.

I don’t see much hope for the Jazz unless they can win the “math” game and get up more high quality threes than the Clippers. The Clippers should be able to bully the young Jazz wings all game so expect them to score at will here. I’m not sure the Clipper defense is as good as their season-long numbers say so I will back the Clippers to go over their team total of 115.5 here. Outside of Walker Kessler, the Jazz are devoid of competent defenders and the Clippers should be able to capitalize.
