Rob Perez: Under 225 in Spurs-76ers
The Sixers starters are going to sit out at some point. I promise you. I will take this to my grave.
Jimmy Butler’s got the wrist, Ben Simmons has an illness, Joel Embiid has the back. They just embarrassed James Harden on national television. If there’s ever a time to do it, it’s now after they got their fill of blood.
Even in the event they don’t, Davis Bertans (personal) is out for San Antonio; he's their most important player.
No, not LaMarcus Aldridge, not DeMar DeRozan … the Spurs are almost +10 per 100 possessions with Davis on the floor and -2 with him off.
The reason why LaMarcus and DeRozan are able to put up the numbers they do is because the other team has to face-guard the deadliest 3-point shooter in the NBA 35 feet from the rim or he’s going to wet 3s that are so wet the net doesn’t even move.
The Spurs’ efficiency will suffer greatly without Bertans, and their 25th ranking in pace will finally rear its ugly head.
Matt Moore: Bulls -1.5 vs. Hawks
This slate is so bad my best bet is on the Bulls. That should tell you what you need to know.
But Atlanta is 2-3 against teams worse than .400 against the spread as a road dog and 1-2 as a short dog.
The Bulls are frustrating because they should be better. Not good, but better.
The Hawks are exactly as bad as they should be.
At home — where the Bulls are 10-12 ATS this season, woof — I’m still going to grab them. I’d take either of these teams at home. I’m mostly taking this because Denver +3.5 scares the snot out of me.
Keith LeBlanc: Under 217 in Raptors-Pacers
This total opened up at 219.5 and has already dropped all the way down to 217, indicating that sharp money has hit the under.
According to our data, just 44% of total bets are on the under, yet it's getting 66% of the money. This is another indicator that wiseguys are hammering this under. The total has also gone under in 5-of-7 games when the Raptors and Pacers have met.
I'll take the under again tonight.
Bryan Mears: Kenneth Faried Over 6.5 Rebounds
The newest Rocket jumped right into the rotation on Monday, playing 23 minutes in a loss to the 76ers. He was able to corral six rebounds in that game, and that was against Embiid and a Philly squad that ranks third in rebound rate this season.
Now Faried will get the lowly Knicks, who rank 25th in rebound rate and offensive efficiency. We're projecting him for right around the same playing time he got on Monday, which is more than enough time to exceed this low prop of 6.5. Our Player Props tool has him at 9.2.
