NBA Player Props & Picks: 3 Players to Target Tuesday, Including Trae Young, Karl-Anthony Towns & More (March 1)

It's the start of a new month and the NBA season is winding down. Tonight, there are six games on the schedule and I have identified a few profitable angles.

We'll be using the Action Labs Player Prop tool to compare our NBA projections to the props posted at a variety of sportsbooks. Below, I have laid out three prop bets that I'm playing, the case for each bet and the best books to find odds on those player props.

NBA Player Props & Picks

Trae Young, Over 9.5 Assists (+110) 

Trae Young has been solid all season for the Atlanta Hawks, in particular dishing out assists. He is fourth in the league this season in assists per game, averaging 9.3 per contest.

Additionally, over the last 10 games, Young is averaging close to 10 assists per game. Further, in road games this season, Young is averaging 9.6 assists per game. He has recorded nine or more assists in eight of the last nine games.

This is the fourth matchup this season between these two teams and Young has recorded nine or more assists in two of the three games this season. Young has done a great job this season in finding his big men for easy baskets around the rim.

The Atlanta Hawks are fighting for playoff position and that is going to be on the back of Young. I’ll take the Over 9.5 assist for Trae Young tonight.

Karl Anthony-Towns, Over 9.5 Rebounds (-125)

This is a spot for Karl-Anthony Towns to have a big game on the boards.  Despite the Golden State Warriors being one of the best defensive teams in the league this season, Towns has plenty of success rebounding the ball against them this season.

Towns has recorded 11 or more rebounds in 12 straight games against the Warriors. Despite the overall rebounding stats being well above average for the Warriors as a whole, they haven't had an answer for Towns throughout his career.

Kevon Looney should struggle against Towns tonight and this a game where Towns can continue his double-digit rebounding streak against the Warriors.

Ivica Zubac, Over 9.5 Rebounds (-110)

The Houston Rockets are the worst defense in the entire league this season. According to NBA Advanced Stats, over the last five games, the Houston Rockets are 29th in opponent rebounding, 30th in defensive rebounding and rebounding percentage and 23rd in defensive rebounding percentage. This is a result of the lack of inside presence.

Tonight is the third matchup between the Clippers and the Rockets. In the two prior matchups this season, Ivica Zubac has recorded double-digit rebounds in both. Additionally, Zubac has grabbed 10 or more rebounds in four out the last six games. Two of those opponents were the Phoenix Suns and the Dallas Mavericks who both rank in the bottom four in defensive rebounding percentage over the last five games.

Lastly, according to Hashtag Basketball, over the last seven days the Rockets are allowing opposing centers to average 17.3 rebounds per game. Despite having Christian Wood and Alperen Sengun as big men, the front court of the Rockets is struggling to contain opposing big men.

I expect Ivan Zubac to continue cleaning up the boards against bottom-ranked rebounding teams.
