The Los Angeles Lakers were able to pull off a surprise road win in Game 1 of the best-of-seven series. They upset the Memphis Grizzlies, who held one of the league's most dominant home-court advantages and were 35-6 in Memphis.

Memphis lost home-court advantage in this series, but may have also lost superstar Ja Morant for a little bit of time. Morant is listed as doubtful for Game 2 after aggravating his right hand, which was already heavily taped up.

As for the Lakers,, they were led by the fantastic play of Anthony Davis and Rui Hachimura, who logged 29 points, a playoff career high. The Lakers are slight 1-point favorites as they look to take a commanding 2-0 series lead.

NBA Same Game Parlay Picks

The Parlay: (+310)

  • LeBron James Over 8.5 Rebounds (-120)
  • D'Angelo Russell Points + Assists 25+ (+140)

LeBron James Over 8.5 Rebounds (-120)

LeBron James averaged 8.3 rebounds per game in the regular season, but has had big rebounding nights in back-to-back games — logging double-doubles against the Minnesota Timberwolves in their Play-In Game and the Grizzlies Game 1.

James' rebounding total is set right around his season average of 8.5. Looking back at James' postseason stats dating back to the 2020 season, he's averaging 10 rebounds per game. Looking even further into the James' stats against the Grizzlies, he's gone over 8.5 in seven of their past eight head-to-head matchups.

With Memphis missing Steven Adams, James should have additional opportunities to grab offensive rebounds. I like the number at 8.5, but there is a lot of value in searching around for alternate totals. Taking over 10.5 at +225 is certainly enticing.

D'Angelo Russell 25+ Points + Assists (+140)

De'Angelo Russell struggled from the floor early on in Game 1, but then got it going late in the second half. He's new pickup to the Lakers, but in looking at his stats over the past three seasons, it's clear he likes playing Memphis. Russell has scored 20 or more points seven times against the Grizzlies in the three-season span.

Although he is playing a secondary role, there should still be plenty of opportunities for Russell to get quality looks, especially with how the Lakers space the floor.

Through 17 games as a Laker, Russell is averaging 6.1 assists per game. He's gone over this total in three of his past five games. As for points, he's averaging 17.4 and a lot of them have come from beyond the arc as he's attempting 6.5 3s per contest and shooting 41.4% from deep. Taking Russell's combined total looks profitable. I like his combined points and assist at 25.
