Are you prepared for midweek college baseball chaos? So far, we’ve seen mid-majors topple the top-ranked teams in the country with regularity in between weekend series.
The top of the country’s vulnerability goes beyond just your Wednesday night slate. Tennessee and Florida just dropped weekend series to Wright State and High Point, respectively, and LSU lost two out of three to Sacramento State.
Chaos.
But with vulnerability comes opportunity. Let's dig into my two NCAA baseball predictions and college baseball picks for Wednesday, March 11.

Miami vs UCF Pick
Miami and UCF battled it out on Feb. 17, both teams’ first midweek game. The Hurricanes took the game in a wild 13-inning duel at home. The series now moves to Orlando.
UCF's starter that game, Matt Sauser, now fills the Saturday role and has been named Big 12 Pitcher of the Week in his efforts.
Instead, we’ll see junior Camden Wicker, who played a pivotal role out of the bullpen last year. Wicker has held opponents to a .171 average and is 1-1 through three starts.
Quietly, UCF has been having a nice year. The Knights just completed a sweep of Murray State following a 12-5 win over FGCU last Wednesday.
UCF checks in 22nd in DSR, 46th in Massey ratings and 50th in ELO. This is a good baseball team that could threaten in an open Big 12.
But this game is important to the Knights. Expect a good crowd and a spirited effort.
I’ll side with the home ‘dogs in this regional rivalry.
Pick: UCF ML +112
San Diego vs USC Pick
USC enters this game a perfect 16-0, while San Diego brings a six-game losing skid to the table. But taking a 3-1 flyer on the Toreros — a quality baseball team — is worth the risk on a weeknight.
San Diego really took it on the chin this past weekend, dropping all four contests to a red-hot Cal team due to a slump at the plate. That slump is an outlier performance, as San Diego carries a 98 wRC+, right around the national average.
Good plate discipline from third baseman Gabe Springer and outfielder CJ Moran (23 combined walks drawn) makes USD a pesky opponent.
San Diego also took UC San Diego (yes, a different team), which ranks 51st in RPI, to extras the last midweek out.
USC won’t win all 60 games this year, and a midweek against a quality regional opponent is a fine flyer to take.
Pick: San Diego ML +310
