With the regular season coming to a close this week, it is an opportune time to look at Kalshi’s odds for who will win this year’s NCAA Women’s Basketball Championship.

Not much has changed since the last time we looked at the table on Feb. 18, with UConn and South Carolina still leading the field at 23% and 21% respectively.

Kalshi’s market reflects that there is a shortlist of contenders for this year’s title, with a significant drop off in chances outside of that small group.

Ever since UConn’s 87-58 blowout victory over South Carolina in February, the Huskies have held pole position with the Gamecocks close behind.

Notre Dame, UCLA and USC are competing for position on the tier just below that for the third spot. Even though the Texas Longhorns are ranked No. 1 in the country at the moment, Kalshi’s market says they have the sixth-highest odds (13%) of cutting down the nets.

Hopefully we will see a combination of these four teams battling it out for a title. This year’s Women’s Final Four is scheduled for April 4 and 6 in Tampa, Florida.

What is Kalshi?

Different than a traditional sportsbook and available in all 50 states, Kalshi allows users to make predictions across several unique markets, including sports, entertainment, elections and even weather.

Kalshi operates on a contract-based system where users buy "contracts" (priced between 1–99 cents) based on whether they believe a specific event will happen. The price of each contract fluctuates in real time based on market sentiment and like the stock market, traders can sell positions early to lock in profits (or minimize losses).
