Utah vs BYU College Basketball Betting Preview

Utah Basketball
Utah comes into this game as losers of six out of its past seven.
The Utes are 9-10 overall and 1-5 in the Big 12, and have a tall task as they play on the road at BYU.
It's been a rough start in conference for the Utes defensively, as they rank near the bottom in every statistical category. But they haven't been bad on the other end of the court, ranking sixth among Big 12 teams in 3-point shooting (35.4%).
Junior guard Terrence Brown is the leading scorer for Utah and one of the best in the country at 22.2 points per game. Brown has scored 20 points or more in 13 games this season, including 25 points in Utah's five-point loss to BYU back on January 10.
Don McHenry is the other talented scorer for Utah, averaging 18 points per game, including 21 points in the first matchup against BYU.
Utah had Brown and McHenry coming off ball screens against BYU, which led to open pull-up jumpers or layup attempts. That forced BYU to go to zone to try to slow down the dynamic duo.
BYU Basketball
BYU is coming off an 84-71 loss to Texas Tech, which now has it at 16-2 overall and 4-1 in the Big 12.
AJ Dybantsa had a quiet 13 points on 6-of-17 shooting and three turnovers in the loss, which snapped a 10-game streak of scoring 20 points or more. The good news for him? He is about to face arguably the worst defense in the conference.
In the first matchup against Utah, BYU scored 89 points on 50% shooting while grabbing 16 offensive rebounds (six from Richie Saunders). Dybantsa had 20 points on 6-for-11 shooting while getting to the charity stripe 12 times.
In conference play, BYU ranks second among Big 12 teams in offensive rebounding percentage, free-throw rate and 2-point percentage, while also having the third-fastest tempo.

Utah vs. BYU Betting Analysis
This game is going to have a lot of points.
BYU is going to push the tempo, especially at home, and its big three will continue to do what they've done all season: score.
Utah can't stop anybody, and when the Utes force a miss, the opposing team often gets the offensive rebound.
Offensively for Utah, you have to love how fun its two guards are with the ball in their hands, and that the duo is scoring points every single night, no matter who it plays.
The Utes made BYU go zone last time to contain their guards, and if BYU goes zone, Utah shoots it pretty well from 3.
My Pick: Over 167 or Better
