Clemson vs Louisville Preview
Clemson Tigers Betting Preview: De-Clawed
What an exhausting season it must be for Clemson fans, and the future for Dabo Swinney staying on board may be grim.
It couldn’t have gone worse for the Tigers. From pundits claiming they were a perennial contender, right into a porous 4-5 record.
The nail in the coffin was already hammered home, but after the 46-45 loss to Duke, nothing Clemson can do is salvageable.
This offense has been totally ineffective, with Cade Klubnik playing mediocre. Don’t expect to be blown away, as the Tigers rank 109th nationally in Pass Success Rate.
The run game has been a disaster as well. Clemson hardly runs the ball, and when it does, it doesn't run efficiently.
It is currently ranked 75th nationally in Rush Success Rate and boasts one of the least explosive run games in the country.
All the Tigers have is Adam Randall running the ball, and even though he’s been excellent in his first season as a starter, the rest of the running back room hasn’t done much to warrant any high praise.
Louisville Cardinals Betting Preview: Finding the Key to Success
It’ll be a fun time in Louisville, with the Cardinals donning their "Black Out" jerseys.
Indeed, last week wasn’t such a fun time for the Cards after they lost an overtime battle against Cal by the score of 29-26. It also seriously hurt their chances of making the playoff and/or ACC Championship push.
Quarterback Miller Moss has been as mediocre as can be. His touchdown-to-interception ratio is ugly, as he’s thrown picks in five of his past six games and had a sub-60% completion rate in two of them.
What’s made the Cardinals so deadly has been their running game, led by Isaac Brown, who leads all of college football with 8.6 yards per carry. Unfortunately for coach Jeff Brohm, Brown may be out for a while, suffering a severe injury against Virginia Tech.
Luckily, Isaac Brown isn’t the only top running back the Cardinals have. Second in command Keyjuan Brown has been a total monster in the backfield, averaging 6.9 YPC, and ran for 136 yards last week.
On the defensive end, they’re pretty solid overall. Louisville is good as a unit, and no one is truly elite. However, D’Angelo Hutchinson has built a solid resume in the secondary.

Clemson vs Louisville Pick, Betting Analysis
The loss of Isaac Brown definitely hurts the Cardinals, but I advise you not to overlook Keyjuan Brown.
Not only that, Louisville’s offensive line does a great job at creating openings for its tailbacks.
Don’t believe me? Isaac Brown ran for over 120 yards against Miami a few weeks ago — a Miami defense ranked sixth in the nation in stopping the run.
Clemson’s run defense is exceptional, with projected first-round defensive tackle Peter Woods, but the Tigers’ run defense grade has continued to dip as the season has worn on.
I’m not going to target the total here because both Clemson and Louisville are far from sure things in that category all season, and there’s no real value in the moneyline.
So, given how abysmal Clemson has been all season and its downward trajectory against the run, I'll ride with the Cardinals on Saturday.
Pick: Louisville -2.5 or Better
