  • Late sharp action has caused a line move in Saturday's Big 12 Championship Game (12 p.m. ET, ABC).
  • A Sports Insights' Bet Signal helps reveal which way the sharp money is going in Texas-Oklahoma.

The line for Saturday's Red River Rivalry edition of the Big 12 Championship Game opened with Oklahoma favored by a half-point more than a touchdown.

Despite Texas being the more popular pick for much of the week, oddsmakers were unwilling to drop this spread to an unhooked seven points, and instead moved Oklahoma to -8 — a minor indication that sharp bettors were behind the Sooners.

But there's been some significant betting activity over the past 24 hours.

Oklahoma has drawn an influx of betting activity, and is now the slightly more popular bet, generating 52% of tickets (see live data here). Among those who have jumped on the Sooners' bandwagon Saturday morning have been sharps.

Just after 9 a.m. ET, a Sports Insights' Bet Signal was triggered from the Vegas-based Orleans Sportsbook. That steam move resulted in the entire betting market moving this line to Oklahoma -9. A few books have even gone as far as -9.5.

While any line moves between 7.5 and 9.5 points are considered fairly insignificant because of the infrequency that games end in an 8-9 point margin, this late move sets up an interesting question: Where does the line move next?

If sharp Oklahoma bettors continue to take advantage of the single-digit spread, we could see this game hit the key number of -10 before kickoff.
