Middle Tennessee vs Wisconsin College Football Betting Preview

Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders Betting Preview: A Disaster Season Incoming?
The Blue Raiders were embarrassed by FCS Austin Peay last week, which indicates that this game can get ugly quickly. Last week was a complete disaster, but the offense sank the ship.
Quarterback Nicholas Vattiato completed just 13-of-36 passes for 85 yards. He chipped in two touchdown passes, but it was as ugly as his stat line appears.
This is a nightmare matchup for the offense, as it will face an improved, experienced Wisconsin defense. The Badgers shut out the RedHawks' offense last week, so it's tough to envision the Blue Raiders' offense succeeding based on the previous week.
Surprisingly, the Blue Raiders were expected to improve and become a dark horse in CUSA. They have loads of experience returning on the defensive side of the ball, but clearly, the offense will be a work in progress as the season progresses.
I don't have any offensive expectations for Middle Tennessee here; it's a terrible matchup for the Raiders. The question is whether or not their defense can hold up against the Badgers' offense.
The defense was not much better last week. They allowed a handful of explosive plays, primarily through the air. They also got killed on late downs, which will keep their defense on the field for extended periods.
There's not much more to say about the Blue Raiders, as last week brought with it a boatload of uncertainty, and they are unbettable until they can show signs of life.

Wisconsin Badgers Betting Preview: Defense Will Be Key
The Badgers appear to have avoided a scare with QB Billy Edwards Jr., who left last week's game with an injury. Edwards is out this weekend, but he should return sooner rather than later.
Backup quarterback Danny O'Neil wasn't great last week, but he suffered some misfortune due to questionable officials' non-calls. Regardless, I do not think O'Neil will have to carry the load, as the Badgers should do just fine relying on their rushing attack.
Last week, the offense's story was its offensive line, which did a terrific job against the RedHawks. The Badgers ended last week ranking near the top of the country in Offensive Line Yards and opposing Stuff Rate.
O'Neil also did a nice job with his legs, scoring a touchdown. The offensive trench should dominate the Blue Raiders' defensive line, so I expect explosive runs throughout the game.
Defensively, the Badgers have to be licking their chops. They're coming off a dominant performance last week, and now they get to face an offense that couldn't throw for over 100 yards against an FCS program.
I would not be surprised to see another superb effort, perhaps another shutout, in the works.

Middle Tennessee vs Wisconsin Pick, Betting Analysis
I can't believe I will lay -28.5 with the Badgers' slow, methodical offense, but I must. MTSU could be a complete disaster in 2025, and last week's results will likely continue on Saturday.
It's hard to have faith in an offense that could not generate anything explosive, specifically through the air, going up against a Badgers defense that should continue to be stingy.
Wisconsin will generate some turnovers and lean heavily on its run game to make this a laugher. It's an ugly bet, but I like the Badgers here to win by more than four touchdowns.
Pick: Wisconsin -28.5
