The Havoc Rankings check in for the last time of the season, with the chaos of Rivalry Week sure to create unforeseen scoreboards.

Toledo will end the season as the best Group of 5 defense in causing chaos, while no offense has had fewer mistakes than UConn.

In the Power 4, Indiana had led on both sides of the ball the entirety of the 2025 season. Texas Tech's NIL budget also paid off for the Red Raiders, who come in as the second-best defense in terms of creating Havoc.

For those unfamiliar, Havoc is the collection of stats that can derail offensive momentum on the defensive side of the ball, including tackles for loss, pass breakups, forced fumbles, interceptions and sacks.

Havoc allowed, meanwhile, is a stat used to quantify an offense's ability to avoid chaos that creates a negative play. Offenses that are elite in Havoc allowed have a low number of fumbles, interceptions and tackles for loss allowed.

Let's take a look at our Week 14 college football picks for Virginia Tech vs. Virginia and Week 14 Havoc Rankings for the upcoming week.

Defensive Havoc: Virginia 14th · Virginia Tech 122nd
Havoc Allowed: Virginia 34th  · Virginia Tech 73rd

The ACC Championship will be defined by two games, as SMU and Virginia victories would seal the matchup scheduled in Charlotte next week.

The Cavaliers head into the Commonwealth Clash needing only a victory over Virginia Tech to compete for the conference title. Head coach Tony Elliott has his best defensive team yet, ranking 14th in Havoc.

The biggest driver of that mark is passes defensed, the combination of pass breakups and interceptions. Virginia ranks sixth of all FBS teams in passes defensed and third overall in pass breakups.

Defensive coordinator John Rudzinski’s nickel package ranks as the third-best third-down defense. Slot cornerback Ja’son Prevard not only dominates with five passes defensed, but he has also missed only two tackles in 543 snaps this season.

On the Virginia Tech side, time is winding down on the interim coaching job for Philip Montgomery, with James Franklin becoming the next head coach in Blacksburg.

The Hokies have lost five of their past six games and have no path to a bowl this postseason.

Quarterback Kyron Drones has disappointed this season, collecting more turnover-worthy plays than big-time throws while also fumbling in each of his last three games.

Drones enters this rivalry game ranked 116th in On-Target Rate, per Sports Info Solutions. Those numbers are sure to come into play against Virginia's multiple secondary that rotates between man, Cover 1 and quarters.

Pick: Virginia -10.5 or Better
