New bettors get a sizable cushion using the BetMGM bonus code TOPACTION, which unlocks a First Bet Offer worth up to $1,500 in bonus bets. Bettors who sign up for this offer will place a first wager with confidence, since a loss on that opening bet triggers bonus bets instead of losing funds.
To start, sign up with the promo code above during registration, make a qualifying deposit, and place a first bet on any market you like at one of the top online betting sites. If that first bet loses, BetMGM credits the account with bonus bets matching the stake, up to $1,500 total. This means you need a first-time deposit of $1,500 to take full advantage of the welcome offer. However, if you place a $100 bet on your first attempt, a losing wager would only bring back $100 in bonus bets.
Friday's Penn State vs. Northwestern matchup at 8 p.m. ET on FOX is the perfect spot to land your first wager to qualify for the welcome offer. Given the parameters of this offer, I feel like an upset is brewing in the nighttime Evanston air. Those traveling Nittany Lions better watch out for those Wildcats tonight! After all, this will be the first time a regular-season game is played at the new Ryan Field, and it'll be in front of a national TV audience that doesn't have any playoff baseball in its way.

Alternative BetMGM Promos to Consider
The BetMGM bonus code TOPACTION isn't the only route into a BetMGM account. Bettors who want a different structure, or who live in a state where the $1,500 offer doesn't apply, have a few other codes to choose from:
| BetMGM Bonus Code | Offer | States |
|---|---|---|
| TOPACTION | Get up to $1,500 Back in Bonus Bets if Your First Bet Doesn't Win! | AZ, CO, DC, IA, IL, IN, LA, KS, KY, MA, MD, NC, OH, TN, VA, WY |
| TANGET2 | Get Up To $1,000 In No Sweat Tokens Over 10 Days Promotion! | AZ, CO, DC, IA, IL, IN, KS, KY, LA, MD, MO, NC, OH, TN, VA, WY |

In my humble opinion, the BetMGM bonus code TOPACTION still gives new accounts the best entry point on the board since that $1,500 First Bet offer does most of the heavy lifting. Returning bettors have options too, so check out these BetMGM promotions built for Saturday's college football slate:

Kickoff for Penn State vs. Northwestern is at 8 p.m. ET on Friday, October 2, 2026. Check BetMGM before the game begins for the most up-to-date odds.
Penn State travels to Ryan Field for a Friday night Big Ten clash, and the line reflects two teams coming off letdown losses. BetMGM lists Penn State as a 2.5-point favorite (-115), with Northwestern getting 2.5 points at -102. The moneyline sits at Penn State -145 and Northwestern +120, and the total opens at 45.5. Penn State enters 3-1 after dropping a home game to Wisconsin last week, while Northwestern sits at 2-1 following a loss to Indiana, so both sides carry something to prove under the lights.
Northwestern's defense held up well against Indiana despite the final score, and the Wildcats get a home crowd behind them for the first marquee matchup of their season. Penn State's offense stalled late against Wisconsin, a problem that does not simply disappear against a Northwestern defense that competes with a ranked opponent for most of four quarters. The spread sits inside a field goal, a sign that oddsmakers view this Penn State vs. Northwestern matchup as far closer than the records alone suggest.
Our pick backs Northwestern on the moneyline at +120. Home underdogs in tight Big Ten spots cover and win outright often enough to make that price worth a look, and Northwestern's defensive performance against a ranked Indiana squad shows this team competes with anyone on its schedule. Penn State's offensive hiccups against Wisconsin carry over against a defense that forces mistakes, and Ryan Field crowd noise creates real problems for a true road team. Grab Northwestern +120 and treat Friday's slate as the first bet toward that BetMGM bonus code offer.
Penn State vs. Northwestern Prediction: Northwestern Moneyline (+120)
If you like our content and picks, sign up with BetMGM bonus code TOPACTION to claim the bonus and start betting on Friday's full college football card. Registration takes a few minutes on mobile, and the First Bet offer means a missed pick on Northwestern still leaves bonus bets to use on Saturday's games.
