DraftKings announced that the Missouri Gaming Commission has granted it one of only two direct mobile sports betting licenses in the state.
This "untethered" license allows DraftKings to offer its online sportsbook across Missouri without needing to partner with a land-based casino or professional sports team, enabling broader independent market access and cost savings for the company.
It also means that DraftKings has taken a significant step forward in expanding its reach across the United States.
The anticipated launch date for the service is December 1, 2025, though this is contingent on final regulatory approvals.
The announcement comes on the heels of the company revealing record revenue in the second quarter of 2025. This will only add to the excitement.
Move Expands DraftKings’ Footprint Across North America

With Missouri being home to several professional sports teams, it will provide the chance for fans to bet on the NFL, NBA, MLB, and NCAA games, including the Missouri Tigers.
“We’re pleased to secure one of two direct mobile licenses in Missouri — paving the way for us to bring DraftKings’ industry-leading online sportsbook to fans across the state,” said Matt Kalish, President of DraftKings North America.
Once operational, Missouri will become the 29th U.S. state where DraftKings offers regulated sports betting. The company already provides its services in numerous states, as well as in Washington D.C. and Ontario, Canada. This expansion is a testament to DraftKings’ commitment to growing its presence in the regulated sports betting market.
The company also noted that it will not only bring its mobile betting platform to The Show-Me State, but its responsible gambling tools (like My Stat Sheet and My Budget Builder) will be available to everyone as well.
A New Era for Missouri Sports Betting
As the anticipated launch date approaches, Missouri sports fans can look forward to accessing DraftKings’ premier sports betting services. This development marks a new era for sports betting in the state, promising enhanced engagement and excitement for sports lovers across Missouri. Keep an eye out for further updates as the launch draws nearer.
Legal sports betting in Missouri—including mobile and in-person wagering for adults age 21 and older—will officially launch statewide on December 1, 2025. Other operators may gain licensure through local partnerships later in the year, with application deadlines set for September 12, 2025.
