DraftKings is expanding its connection with Canadian hockey fans through a new agreement with Prime Video. The company will become the exclusive Sportsbook and Online Casino Integration sponsor for NHL on Prime during the 2026–27 NHL season.
The partnership will place DraftKings within Prime Video’s Wednesday Night Hockey coverage, along with select Stanley Cup Playoff games. It gives hockey viewers in Canada more chances to see the DraftKings brand during some of the season’s most important moments.
The announcement comes just weeks after Alberta launched online casinos. Some of the biggest brands available at launch included DraftKings, along with FanDuel, BetMGM, and bet365.
Wednesday Night Hockey begins tomorrow, when the Toronto Maple Leafs face the New York Islanders at 7 p.m. ET on Prime Video.

What Fans Can Expect During NHL on Prime
The DraftKings Sportsbook partnership will include branded features before games, during live action, and throughout intermissions. Viewers may see DraftKings integrations connected to major game moments, pregame discussions, intermission segments, and on-screen score clock elements.
The goal is to make DraftKings a natural part of the NHL viewing experience without taking attention away from the game itself. Prime Video’s NHL coverage gives DraftKings access to a highly engaged audience, since live hockey fans often stay tuned in from puck drop through the final whistle.
For DraftKings, the deal is another way to reach fans during the moments that matter most: rivalry games, close finishes, playoff matchups, and the conversations that surround them.

Why the Deal Matters for DraftKings Sportsbook
Canada continues to be an important market for DraftKings. The company currently operates regulated Sportsbook and casino products in Ontario and Alberta, offering eligible customers legal options for sports betting and online casino entertainment.
By appearing during NHL on Prime, DraftKings Sportsbook can connect with Canadian fans who already follow hockey closely throughout the regular season and playoffs. The sponsorship also gives the company visibility across a broad mix of programming, including pregame coverage, live broadcasts, intermission content, and commercials.
Prime Video’s schedule will feature exclusive national NHL games in Canada, with Canadian teams appearing in every matchup. The platform will also carry two First Round playoff series and one Second Round series. Prime members can watch these games at no additional charge beyond their existing membership.

Using the DraftKings App in Ontario and Alberta
Eligible customers in Ontario and Alberta can use the DraftKings app to access DraftKings Sportsbook and online casino offerings in regulated markets. The app is designed to give users a mobile way to follow available betting markets, manage their account, and access casino games where permitted.
As hockey coverage grows on Prime Video, the DraftKings app may become a familiar companion for fans who want to engage with the season beyond simply watching the games. However, sports betting should always remain entertainment, not a financial strategy.
DraftKings promotes responsible gaming tools that can help customers manage their activity. These include:
- Deposit limits that allow customers to set a maximum amount they can add to their account.
- Cool-off periods for customers who want to temporarily pause access.
- Self-exclusion options for people who need a longer break from betting or gaming.
- Resources intended to help customers make informed entertainment choices.
If you're a DraftKings customer, you should review their local eligibility requirements and use only regulated platforms available in their province.
A New Chapter for Hockey Streaming
The agreement reflects the growing value of live sports streaming in Canada. Hockey fans are highly invested in live games, especially when the action can shift quickly in the final minutes or overtime. That level of attention makes NHL broadcasts an attractive place for integrated brand experiences.
For Prime Video, the sponsorship brings DraftKings into its hockey programming in a way that spans the entire broadcast experience. For DraftKings, it creates a prominent opportunity to build awareness among Canadian NHL audiences throughout the 2026–27 season.
As Wednesday Night Hockey launches on Prime Video, DraftKings Sportsbook will be part of the on-screen experience for fans following Canadian teams, major regular-season games, and selected playoff matchups.
