Palms Casino Resort is set to give guests a new way to play with the opening of a fully enclosed, non-smoking gaming area at Palms Las Vegas. The new addition adds 7,300 square feet of casino space, 224 slot machines, a dedicated full-service bar, and a separate environment for guests who prefer to game without smoke.
The new gaming area is scheduled to open to the public on Monday, Aug. 24. Palms will then host a grand opening celebration on Tuesday, Sept. 1, beginning at 4 p.m.
The casino most recently made headlines after awarding a record-setting baccarat jackpot last May. A woman's hand triggered the top prize on the game’s progressive jackpot meter.
A Dedicated Non-Smoking Casino Space
Unlike a standard non-smoking section placed within a larger casino floor, the new Palms Las Vegas space will be fully enclosed. That design gives guests a more separate and comfortable setting while still keeping them close to key amenities, including the William Hill Sportsbook.
The expansion will include 224 slot games from nearly a dozen major gaming manufacturers. The game mix will feature newer releases and popular titles, giving slot players a broad selection in one location.
Palms Casino Resort General Manager Kevin Glass said the decision came from regular guest feedback about the desire for additional non-smoking gaming options.
“Guest feedback drives so much of what we do, and expanding our non-smoking gaming options is something we’ve heard consistently,” Glass said. “This new space combines over 200 of the latest games, a dedicated bar, and a new gaming experience to create an entirely new way to play at Palms.”

Palms Las Vegas Plans Charity Slot Challenge
The official celebration will include the first-ever Spin It Forward IGT Celebrity Charity Slot Challenge. The event will bring together invited local personalities, who will play slot machines on behalf of 10 Southern Nevada nonprofit organizations.
Each participating charity will receive a guaranteed $2,500 donation from the San Manuel Gaming and Hospitality Authority. IGT will also provide each organization with $1,000 in slot play.
The charities can choose to keep the guaranteed $1,000 donation or allow a celebrity participant to play for a chance to increase the final contribution.
Organizations included in the event are:
- Heaven Can Wait Animal Society
- UNLV Chapter of Advancing Indigenous Science & Engineering Society
- Proud to Rescue Benevolent Fund
- Southern Nevada Joint Management Culinary & Training Fund
- S.A.F.E. House
- PBS Southern Nevada
- The Ability Center
- Make-A-Wish Southern Nevada
- Springs Preserve Foundation
- Teach For America Nevada
Following the slot challenge, Palms will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony to mark the new gaming area’s official launch.
September Promotions for Club Serrano Members
The opening celebration will continue through September with several promotions for Club Serrano members.
Palms Las Vegas plans to run Hot Seat promotions from Sept. 1 through Sept. 3. The casino will also host Thursday-night drawings on Sept. 10 and Sept. 17, with opportunities for players to win free slot play and other prizes.
Guests should check with Club Serrano for eligibility details, official rules, and promotion information.
New Bar Brings Local Beer and Specialty Cocktails
The new non-smoking gaming area will also feature a bar with an identity separate from other Palms venues.
Guests will find a rotating list of draft beers from local breweries, including beer styles not offered elsewhere at the resort. The cocktail menu will include a nitro, tequila-based spin on the classic carajillo.
The bar will also offer a rotating Bartender’s Choice menu with three premium bourbon and scotch flights priced at $10. The drink program gives guests another reason to visit the space, whether they are taking a break from the slots or simply looking for a new bar experience at Palms.

Palms Continues to Grow Its Gaming Options
The new non-smoking gaming room adds to the casino experience at Palms Las Vegas, which features a redesigned 95,000-square-foot casino floor, entertainment venues, restaurants, bars, and a pool complex.
The resort is located west of the Las Vegas Strip near Flamingo Road and Interstate 15. Palms is owned and operated by the San Manuel Gaming and Hospitality Authority, an entity of the Yuhaaviatam of San Manuel Nation.
With more than 200 slots, a dedicated bar, charity-driven opening festivities, and September player promotions, the new gaming space gives Palms another reason for Las Vegas visitors and local players to stop in and play.
