The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board reported internet casino revenue totaling $174.3 million for July on Tuesday as overall operator winnings surpassed $6 billion in just over five years since launch.

The Keystone State launched iGaming in July 2019, legalizing it in tandem with online sports betting. Pennsylvania is one of the top three states among the seven that currently offer internet casino gaming, and July's figure represents a 31.2% increase from last year.

Revenue was also up 8.5% from the $160.6 million in June and outpaced the 3.4% rise in total wagering at $5.74 billion. July marked the fifth time in six months that revenue surpassed $170 million, a threshold that was crossed for the first time in February. The $1.2 billion in gross winnings for the first seven months of the year is up 25.9% compared to 2023.

The state collected $49.5 million in taxes for July, lifting the year-to-date total to $342.9 million. That's more than triple the $102.3 million in receipts that sports wagering has generated in the Keystone State in 2024.

A Good Month on the Virtual Felt

The $46.6 million in statewide operator revenue from table games in July was the highest total since the $53.1 million accrued in March. Hollywood Casino at PENN National, which counts DraftKings, BetMGM and ESPN BET among its online offerings, paced all licensees with $20.5 million in table games winnings. Revenue was up 21.9% year-over-year, and PENN also cleared $50 billion in all-time iGaming drop for table games.

The PGCB does not break out revenue figures by individual operators, but it appears FanDuel finished no worse than second, as licensee Valley Forge reported $16.1 million from games including craps, roulette, blackjack, and baccarat. That was an increase of 53.7% compared to last July, as overall table games revenue topped $110 million for 2024.

Overall, five licensees reached seven figures for table games revenue in July. BetRivers totaled $3.5 million, as its 2.5% increase in winnings came despite a 14.3% decline in drop to $189.1 million. Caesars Palace Online and betPARX rounded out the quintet at $1.9 million and $1.2 million, respectively, with betPARX reaching seven figures for only the fifth time since the start of last year.

PENN Leads, but FanDuel Makes Gains

PENN National topped the leaderboard for overall July revenue with $64 million, up 17.7% from July 2023. The $43.1 million derived from slots pushed all-time winnings in that gaming discipline above $1.5 billion. Valley Forge was a distant second for July at $45.5 million — 55.7% higher compared to last year — as slot revenue surged 56.9% to $29.4 million.

BetRivers grabbed the No. 3 spot for revenue with $29.8 million, ending a four-month run with at least $30 million in winnings. It was still 11.2% higher than last year, and Rivers did extend its streak with at least $25 million in slot winnings to eight months with a $26.2 million haul.

Golden Nugget completed its first 12 months of operations in the Keystone State with a flourish, as the $5.5 million in revenue for July trailed only the $5.7 million claimed in February. It topped $5 million in slot revenue, which helped offset a 38.3% drop in table games winnings to $494,000.

The Golden Nugget totaled $44.8 million in revenue for its first year, as the overall gaming drop totaled $1.7 billion. The $168.2 million wagered on its platform for July was an all-time monthly high, edging out the $162.8 million bet in May.
