WarHorse Casino in Lincoln, Nebraska's second-largest gaming venue, is in the midst of a significant transformation. Now, with the commencement of Phase 3 construction, the end is coming into view.
The focus of Phase 3 will be the expansion of both dining and gaming facilities. The expanded gaming floor will accommodate over 1,100 slot machines and 18 table games, when it's all said and done.
"These improvements represent a major leap forward for WarHorse Lincoln," said Lance Morgan, President and CEO of Ho-Chunk, Inc. "While guests may notice changes during construction, the end result will be a dramatically enhanced destination—one that offers more dining variety, more entertainment, and an even better experience."
The goal is to provide an array of choices that cater to both novice players and seasoned gamblers. In fact, the renovations are already being attributed to a revenue surge amongst Nebraska casinos.
It turned out to be a record-breaking year for casino revenue in the Cornhusker State.

The WarHorse Casino in Lincoln Has a Storied Past
Before explaining some of the upcoming changes, it's important to appreciate the journey of WarHorse Lincoln.
Originally opened as part of Nebraska’s evolving gaming scene, the casino quickly became a popular destination for gaming enthusiasts and visitors seeking entertainment. Operated by Ho-Chunk, Inc., the casino has steadily grown in size and reputation, thanks in part to a series of expansions aimed at enhancing the guest experience.
From its modest beginnings, WarHorse Lincoln has evolved into a bustling entertainment hub, offering a wide array of gaming options, dining venues, and live events.
These ongoing improvements are reflective of the growing demand for diverse recreational activities in Lincoln and the broader Nebraska region. The new look and bigger crowds are already negatively affecting lottery sales in Nebraska. And this significant increase could be seen as early as July.
Navigating Changes: Parking and Access
As construction progresses, guests will notice changes to parking and access at the casino starting February 9.
The southeast parking lot, which will transform into the primary construction zone, will be closed.
However, WarHorse Lincoln is dedicated to maintaining convenience for guests. Alternative parking areas have been designated, and a continuous shuttle service will ferry visitors directly to the casino entrance.
To ensure a smooth experience, clear signage will direct traffic, and staff members will be on hand to assist guests with any questions. Although traffic patterns may shift, WarHorse Lincoln is committed to preserving a welcoming atmosphere for everyone.

Uninterrupted Operations and Future Prospects
Despite ongoing construction, WarHorse Lincoln is enthusiastic about maintaining full operational capacity.
According to Ho-Chunk, Inc., all gaming and hospitality services will continue without interruption. Guests are encouraged to explore the gaming floor, dine at the various restaurants, and enjoy entertainment options while construction activities are underway.
As the casino looks forward to completing Phase 3 by summer 2027, the journey of WarHorse Lincoln serves as a testament to its commitment to growth and guest satisfaction.
This transformation not only promises to enhance the local gaming landscape but also strengthens the casino’s position as a premier entertainment destination in Nebraska.
