We conclude Saturday’s NFL preseason slate with a pick for the Cowboys vs. Seahawks game at Lumen Field.

Can Pete Carroll, Drew Lock and the Seahawks defend home field, or will the Cowboys pull off the upset?

Matchup Analysis

Jaxon-Smith Njigba and Zach Charbonnet both had great debuts in Week 1, so expect them to play again here.

Seattle didn’t play many starters last week and although more should play this week, it doesn’t sound like Geno Smith, DK Metcalf or Tyler Lockett will be in for much more than a drive or two.

Expect to see plenty of Drew Lock, who was solid against the Vikings as he threw for 191 yards and two touchdowns with a 70% completion percentage.

After Lock, Holton Ahlers should get some action as QB3. Ahlers was completed all four of his passes for 43 yards and a touchdown last week.

Cowboys +7

Seahawks -7

The Cowboys will be resting the vast majority of their starters. We will see a combination of Cooper Rush and Will Grier at quarterback.

Both were extremely solid against Jacksonville to open the preseason, and we’ve also seen Rush be semi-competent in limited NFL experience.

Grier completed 22-of-31 passes for two touchdowns last week. He also threw an interception.

Rookie Deuce Vaughn broke off a few explosive runs and finished with 50 rushing yards and a touchdown on just six carries.

Betting Picks & Predictions

Throughout his career, Pete Carroll has been a great coach to back in the preseason as he's gone 28-19-1 ATS (59%) across 48 games.

However, I’m not a big fan of laying this many points when there isn’t a massive QB edge, so I'll be backing the Cowboys as seven-point underdogs.

I think Rush and Grier have enough talent to keep this game competitive and I don’t believe Lock deserves this level of respect.
