For my top Giants vs Patriots NFL PrizePicks and Underdog plays, I’m highlighting Austin Hooper, Devin Singletary, and DeMario Douglas.
We know that Hunter Henry is a big part of the Patriots' passing attack, but as we've seen for decades, multiple tight ends are viable in New England. Austin Hooper has made an impact when targeted this season, averaging 14.2 yards per catch.
He averages only 1.8 targets per game, but it's clear that his efficiency and knack for making a big play over the middle of the field are what the Patriots look to create each game.
Hooper has exceeded this total in seven of 10 games this season, and with him likely only needing one catch to do so again, he's a great play tonight.
Next, we move to another player with a very low threshold tonight in Giants running back Devin Singletary.
Singletary took over the backfield while Tyrone Tracy Jr. was injured, and Tracy has taken back much of the rushing workload. Singletary has still seen some snaps on third down.
Despite being out there on passing downs, Singletary is nowhere near a top target in the passing attack, but just like Austin Hooper above, all we need is one reception.
Over the last five games, Singletary has seen seven targets and caught all of them while averaging 8.8 yards per reception. Now, he did not see a target last week, but he should get at least one or two tonight, especially if the Giants are trailing as expected.
Jump on this value as Singletary’s receiving work is being undervalued.
The theme of undervalued pass-catchers concludes with Patriots wide receiver DeMario Douglas.
Douglas may be fourth on the team in targets, but he has been a consistent and reliable option for Drake Maye this season.
Douglas averages three targets per game and has a 67 percent catch rate. That has led him to hauling in two or more passes in eight of 12 games this season.
With the Giants' secondary ranking 25th in receptions allowed to wide receivers, look for Douglas to capitalize on the extra attention given to Stefon Diggs and Henry by beating man coverage and making possession catches.
