The number of people who identify as female who bet on the Super Bowl increased by 51% this year, according to BetMGM.

That increase reflected an overall increase in women viewers for the big game, as well.

This data is according to BetMGM spokesperson John Ewing.

Several sportsbooks hosted plenty of Taylor Swift-themed props in the leadup to the Super Bowl. Only bettors in Canada, however, could wager on props that involved things outside of the purview of the game — like whether Travis Kelce was going to propose to Taylor Swift after the game, which was a real prop FanDuel posted two weeks before kickoff.

The number of overall viewers and wagers for the contest also shattered previous records — partly due to the prevalence of Swift and partly due to natural demographic changes and population growth. An estimated $20 billion was wagered in America alone on the game. And the Super Bowl set viewership records with over 123 million viewers.

Swift and the Chiefs aren't going anywhere, either. The dynasty looks to become the first franchise in NFL history to win back-to-back-to-back titles, which would put them in illustrious company among America's most vaunted sports teams of all-time.
